Meet Kodjo Afate, A Togolese Inventor Who Created A Printer From Waste Materials

A 36-year-old Togolese inventor by the title of Kodjo Afate Gnikou has produced a completely functioning 3D printer from e-waste discovered from a scrap yard.

The printer which he named ‘W.Afate’ had NASA so impressed that he was awarded the NASA Worldwide House Apps Problem in Paris.  He made the printer from rails and belts from outdated scanners, the casing of a discarded desktop laptop and bits of a diskette drive.

Afate’s Three-D printer is modeled after the Prusal Mendel, a preferred printer in america and Europe.
